Abstract
Flow flowing is a widely used technology for manufacturing ax symmetric products used in the automobile industry, aerospace industry, and other industries where symmetrical tubular components are required, such as missiles. Flow forming involves deforming materials with a traversing roller or a set of rollers. In this study, the experimental investigation of the flow forming of Al7075-O perform was studied. In this investigation, the thickness reduction was varied, and its impact on flow forming forces, temperature rise of the work piece was studied. The present study showed that the axial force's contribution to the total force was highest while the circumferential force was least. The radial force was found to be about 2025 % of the axial force. This paper also discussed some of the defects encountered during the experiment, such as diametral growth, roller feed lines, chip formation, and protrusion. It also proposes a solution to minimize these defects.
