Abstract
Based on the panel data of China's provinces from year 2009 to 2018, the internal R&D cost is introduced as an mediation variable, and the Bootstrap method is used to study the impact of foreign direct investment on China's high-tech industry innovation through the mediation effect model. The results show that, in general, foreign direct investment can promote the innovation of China's high-tech industries, but the direct effect is relatively weak. At the same time, R&D internal expenses play a significant mediation role in the impact of foreign direct investment on China's high-tech industry innovation. Therefore, in order to further promote the innovation of China's high-tech industry, it is necessary to increase the attraction of foreign investment, increase the investment in research and development expenses, and pay attention to the learning of core technologies
