Abstract

It is well-known that a delayed preventive dental examination, which increases the level of basic dental diseases, has a negative impact on the labor and combat capability of servicemen. The purpose of the work was to conduct stomatological examination of the military personnel of the Chernivtsi boundary group regarding the level of needs in the stomatological help. Material and methods. The investigations were carried out on the basis of military unit m/u 2195 of the Chernivtsi boundary group. The survey involved 113 military personnel (30 conscripts and 83 contractors), who were divided into age groups. The intensity of dental caries was assessed by the DMF-Index. The hygiene index was determined on the recommendation of Yu. A. Fedorova and V. V. Volodkina, changes in periodontal tissues based on the Schiller-Pisarev test and the CPI index. Evaluation of the structure of tooth decay was carried out according to the method of A. V. Alimskii. Results and discussion. The examination showed a high prevalence of dental caries (100% in conscripts and 93.41% in contractors). In the case of conscripts, 32.83% of the tooth lesions needed caries treatment, 16.41% had complications, and 17.91% had removal. The number of already sealed teeth averaged 22.38%, and the removed was 10.44%. The contractors had 23.10% teeth with caries, 39.29% of sealed teeth, and 16.78% of removed teeth. 76.66% of the conscripts had supra- and subgingival tartar, 10% complained of bleeding gums, 23.33% had signs of gingivitis and 13.33% had periodontitis; 32.76% of contractors had signs of periodontitis and 34.76% had gingivitis. We also found that 55.37% of the teeth needed rehabilitation, and 23.10% needed a prosthetic repair. Conclusion. The level of need for sanitation of the oral cavity among servicemen of the Chernivtsi border detachment, depending on the DMF-Index, reached 55.37% of teeth, and prosthetics was 23.10%. There is also a tendency to expand the indications for replacing the defects of the crown part of the tooth using not only individual crowns, but also post and core crown.
