Abstract

It is known that chronic prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, erectile dysfunction can be significant factors that lead to infertility. There are several researches concerning natural resources and the study of compounds with new mechanisms of prostatoprotective action, in particular Chondroitin sulfate, Tribestan and “Bioglobin-U” (water-salt extract of the placenta) to correction of dysfunction of the reproductive system to improve the reproductive health of men. The purpose of the study was to analyze the androgenic status of male rats under conditions of experimental prostatitis and correction of natural origin medicines. The popularity of natural origin prostate protectors is due to their sufficient effectiveness with minimal risk of adverse reactions, high patient confidence, good tolerability, and favorable pharmacoeconomic profile. Material and methods. Experimental prostatitis has been caused on white non-linear male rats weighing 300-330 g by local irrigation of the anterior surface of the central part of the prostate gland (isthmus and ventral parts) for 5 seconds with an applicator “Wartner” for removing warts. Results and discussion. Cryotrauma is characterized by a slowdown of metabolic processes, a decrease in the barrier, secretory, endocrine and motor functions of the prostate gland of animals. Cryotrauma caused a significant decrease in the androgenic saturation of the organisms of animals, specifically, a decrease in the mass of the prostate gland and seminal vesicles, an increase in the prostate-specific enzyme and a decrease in serum testosterone levels, as well as a decrease in the fructose content in the seminal vesicles. The drugs were injected during three days before the simulation of cryotraumatic prostatitis and 11 days after cryotrauma. Indicators of the androgenic status of animals were determined. The results of the research showed that the medicines with chondroitin sulfate, “Bioglobin-U” (water-salt extract of the placenta), Tribestan, chondroitin sulfate + Tribestan having certain prostatoprotective properties under cryotraumatic prostatitis. Conclusions. The obtained results showed an increase in the level of testosterone in the blood, the content of fructose in the seminal vesicles and the activity of prostatic acid phosphatase. The effectiveness of investigated medications was almost equal in comparison with Prostaplant forte.
