Abstract
Arka kalpana is an emerging dosage form nowadays and is effectively practiced nowadays. Manjishtadi arka is mentioned in Arka Prakasha Panchama sataka with kushta as indication. It is composed of Manjishta, Triphala, Katuki, Vacha, Devadaru, Haridra, Nimba and Amrta. Many experimental studies proving anti cell proliferative, anti inflammatory action, anti fungal action has been proved. Both the kashaya and arka kalpanas with same ingredients have been told in kushta. With many added benefits at pharmaceutical level, arka is a better dosage form. The pharmaceutical and analytical studies involving HPTLC was carried out in this study.
