Abstract
The article deals with the problem of the functioning of phraseologisms in the non-dominant national state variants of German. The quantitative analysis according to the informants’ interviews and corpus massive textual search stated the usual, occasional and archaic status of the analyzed phraseological units. The German variant phraseology is defined as the diatopically differentiated, stable, self-regulated and self-reproducing constituent of the variant lexical micro systems. Based on the quantitative data the hypothesis about the unsystematic ambivalent dynamic balance of the German variant phraseology has been proved.
