Abstract
Nowadays Leaf springs are one of the oldest suspension components they are still frequently used, especially in commercial vehicles. Composites are used as alternative material instead of the steel leaf spring used in commercial vehicles. In this paper the automobile vehicle steel leaf spring EN45 A is replaced by a composite leaf spring. The Leaf spring is made by Glass Fiber reinforced polymer (Sisal Fiber / Epoxy resin). The objective of this paper is to present modeling, analysis and optimization of composite leaf spring (GFRP) Mono parabolic and compare its results with the conventional multi leaf spring. Modeling should be done by SOLID WORKS and Analysis is carried out by using ANSYS 10.0 software for better understanding.
