Abstract
Study of coating techniques with selection of a suitable process for the longer sustenance of TBC. A conventional CI engine piston of aluminum cast alloy material has considered, On the piston head to engraved helical grooves by using Solid Works 2013 and coating with different coating thickness of 0.5mm to 4mm are used to reduce the loss of heat through conduction and convection on the piston head, with this application of coating on engine parts improves thermal efficiency. The major focus kept on the structural and thermal analysis of TBC coated piston, working under thermal and mechanical loads with different thickness of the coating. An attempt has made for improving the performance by Design, Modeling, and Analysis. The analysis has done on FEA software like ANSYS.
