Abstract
In this article, patients' problems in the rehabilitation period after reconstructive operations on the soft tissues of the oral cavity are analyzed. The performed manipulations are associated with negative emotions of a person, complicating the establishment of trusting relationship with a doctor, which ultimately can affect a course of the wound process in the postoperative period. The doctor's ability to convince a patient and set him to a positive solution to problems plays an important role in the emotional discharge at the stages of surgical treatment and after it. The specificity of the patients of a dental surgeon is based on the conflicting desire to have a beautiful smile and an agreement to surgical treatment. The decisive element is the relationship established between a doctor and a patient on a clinical visit. These relationships ultimately determine the result of the treatment. Any damage to the oral mucosa will cause pain syndrome of different severity, making the patient suffer. Keeping the patient's psychological health in balance is a rather complex and important step that improves the quality of life. In the process of rehabilitation, one should not exclude the involvement of clinical psychologists to reduce emotional stress. It is important to create special rooms in dental clinics for psychological consulting, taking patients out of stress, emotional discharge and correction of the emotional state. Further search for new stress-protective agents and methods available for use by a dentist himself is a promising direction in the rehabilitation of patients after reconstructive operations on the soft tissues of the oral cavity.
