Abstract

In this descriptive-analytical article, transgenic materials have been studied by collecting data using library method. It was concluded that transgenic materials can be examined from two perspectives. The first view considers transgenic materials as harmful substances and always in line with biological attacks and bioterrorism weapons, while the second view considers transgenic materials as an agent in the genetic engineering of vaccines useful against infectious diseases. The main question of the present article is whether transgenic products are a bioterrorism weapon or a useful agent in making vaccines against dangerous and infectious diseases? It is clear that due to the increasing population of the planet in the coming years, the world community will face the problem of food supply, so researchers are looking to make genetic changes in plants, food and agriculture in order to meet the food needs of people using transgenic substances. On the other hand, in some countries, the use of transgenic food in the form of meals has been banned due to the uncertainty of their exact benefits and harms and their side effects as the staple food. In addition, for many years we have been witnessing infectious diseases of plant origin or originating from a common product between livestock and humans. Therefore, researchers have decided to use transgenic materials to produce vaccines against these diseases. It is worth noting that vaccines derived from transgenic substances are much cheaper and simpler than chemical vaccines in terms of processing and production and consumption phases.
