Abstract
The study relied on an inductive method for analyzing available Sudan human development data on health, education and income through a simple review of statistical concepts in estimating and extrapolating the opinions and ideas of experts on robust statistics; and then analyzed the available information. It highlighted some features of human development situation in Sudan in the light of the national report for 2012 and the global report 2013 and calculated an alternative human development index for 2018 using the median as a locational measure of central tendency. The
result obtained may render the interval estimate by this approach robust.
