Abstract
The modern era is characterized by the emergence of new management tools that are successfully used in various spheres of life. Crowdsourcing is one of these tools; this is a type of collective activities within which business managers, public authorities and the public create effective projects and search for resources to generate new ideas. Crowdsensing is aimed at the collective search for information on business and city projects. The purpose of the study is to analyze crowdsourcing and crowdsensing activities in Russia, identify problem areas and propose new directions for their development in the management of megapolis public utility services. The research is based on a systematic approach, comparative method and a passive approach to identify problems and prospects for the development of crowdsourcing in the management of public utilities. The scenarios for the development of the relationship between interested residents of megacities and public utility services are proposed for the collective solution of the quality of life issues in megacities. Unfortunately, megacity crowdsourcing projects are developed by municipalities mainly in problem areas; they are characterized by low resident activity. This is due to the lack of a mechanism for motivating active residents of megacity crowdsourcing projects
