Abstract
Banking are an exigency to economies. Loaning, Investment are crucially important for its people. The present paper is an attempt to understand the banking efficiency, as they are indispensable to a nation. A set of 199 literatures are extracted from two different databases i.e. Web of Science and Emerald, by including a time frame from 1970 to 2017. Area of study include a range of world's commercial banks like Vietnamese commercial banks, 25 banks of Ghana, 16 major Chinese commercial banks, Slovak commercial banks, banks of Honk Kong, Cambodia, USA, Spanish, Togolese, UK, Argentine etc. These distinct authors have undertaken varied Banking Efficiency measurement methods like DEA, SFA etc. But the review of these literatures reveal that many researchers hinge on DEA for banking efficiency measurement. Moreover, this paper also lists that some researchers have contributed more than one literature on this subject.
