Estimating the economic costs of traffic accidents in Libya: An Econometric Study during the period 1995-2017

Abstract
The study aims to estimate of the economic impact for traffic accidents in Libya, and to achieve the desired aims, the study applied the quantitative method. In analysing the study data, statistical computer program services were used through the software contained in (EVIEWS 10), Was used of Vector Auto Regression model (VAR) . The results found were summarised as follows: Firstly, The study revealed that the general attitude of the number of road traffic deaths in Libya has a significant increase during the study period. Secondly, the study demonstrated The economic impact of the number of road traffic deaths causes a retreat of 0.000004 of the value of the gross domestic product in Libya. Finally, the study provided a set of recommendations that will hopefully be followed for reduce the phenomenon of traffic accidents in Libya and its economic implications .
