Abstract
The objective of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of the matching process and the performance of the large expenditures devoted to the SIVP program on the efficiency of the process between unemployment and vacancies of young university graduates in Tunisia. We exploited the stochastic frontier approach to estimate the effectiveness of the labor market matching function on data of the unemployed university graduates registered in the national agency for employment and self-employment in Tunisia. The results show the existence of heterogeneity in terms of efficiency between the Tunisian governorates. An unexpected negative impact of SIVP expenditure on the efficiency of the matching process is also estimated.
