Abstract
The research study aims to examine the role of Educational Leadership in the 21st century teaching competencies of secondary school teachers in the United Arab Emirates during and post COVID 19 pandemic in the United Arab Emirate. The study conducted a survey through a questionnaire and the respondents were 436 secondary school teachers in the UAE prior to COVID 19 and observations were made to reflect on the changing paradigm shift in the competencies required to deal with the situation. The study examined the relationship between competencies and Professional Development and Lifelong Learning and the effect of 21st century competencies on Professional Development and Lifelong Learning. It also examined the influence of demographic variables on Professional Development and Lifelong Learning. Findings indicated that professional knowledge, professional practice, personal competence, subject knowledge, teaching strategies and 21st century skills and curriculum knowledge predicts Professional Development and Lifelong Learning
