The impact of Demographic Transition on Economic Growth in Sudan

Abstract
The process of demographic transition changes the demographic characteristics of any country, this transitions have had economic and social implications, whether long or short-term. Sudan is now in the second phase of demographic transition. This paper aims to studies the impact of demographic transition on economic growth of Sudan. The study used short time series from 1990 to 2019 and the data have collected from Central Bureau of Statistics (Sudan). The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model has been applied. The study results showed a positively impact for the demographic transition on economic growth in Sudan in the long run and negatively in the short run.
