Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the linear type traits of Aberden Angus cows. The material of the study was formed by 41 head Abergen Angus cows brought from Uruguay to an operation registered in Sanliurfa Breeding Cattle Breeders Association. Morphological evaluation in cows was carried out on the 60th day after calving. The mean Stature (ST) was measured as 132.86±0.55 cm. With the linear identification method 17 character were defined on a 1-9 scale and evaluated with a 100 point system. The mean and standard error for FP in the non-linear scoring method was found to be 66.86 ± 0.76. The number of cows with a score of 70 and above was determined to be 18. As a result; Angus cows brought from Uruguay to Sanliurfa have advantages such as having the width of the stern and the tendency of the right hemispheres to be able to give birth easily and there are also disadvantages such as difficulties in routine inoculation, artificial insemination, herd management during examination. Angus is believed to be better suited to breeding cows as breeding material for male breeds, breeding cows for breeding, rather than breeding cows for breeding in the region.
