Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the descriptive and empirical results of the survey responses regarding the gear oil drainage from end-of-life vehicle (ELV). The study evaluates the various drainage procedures and its effects on drainage time, amount of gear oil drained out and the cars processed daily. The survey results suggest that there are differences in manual, semi-automatic and fully-automatic methods for the input factors considered and also vary across countries. Further benefits of implementing semi-automatic or full-automatic method preserves the eco-system, improves the safety of workers and effectiveness of the drainage procedure. The statistical results have proved to be reliable and effective for practical applications, and the analysis would be considered for the improvement in the design of existing practices
