The Recent Open-Research Developments & Future Challenges in Ants Colony Optimization Algorithms: A Review

Ant Colony Optimization is an algorithm based on Swarm Intelligence (SI) and inspired by the actual ant's clustering behavior. Many styles of work have shown that ACO algorithms have been demonstrated to be substantially effective in reducing and addressing different complexities in real-life problems. This paper offers a brief review as an insight into the developments in ACO algorithms and the patterns in their publishing over the 2013-2019 review periods. This is intended to help inexperienced researchers and other readers who might need a bird-eye view of the general, local and global convergences of ACO algorithms.
