Abstract
Concrete cracks under sustained loading and micro cracks developed at the initial stage. Through which environmental agents enter in to interior zone of concrete, leads to carbonation, Chloride attack and degradation of structure, ultimately reduce life of structure. Relevance of Calcite mineral triggering bacteria for concrete restoration and reduction of pores and flaws in concrete has been examined. The studies on possibility of bacteria as a sustainable material were also under progress. In this paper used Bio-cement which is combination of Bascillus.Pasteurii (5%), Urea and Calcium Lactate (95%) as adjuvants. By using Bio-cement as additive with optimised value of 1% by weight of cement, analysed results of compressive strength, Split tensile strength and Flexural strength values for M40 grade of concrete, after curing periods of 7, 28, 56 and 90 days.
