Abstract
The research was aimed to know the agroforestry system: combination of Ochroma bicolor and Oriza sativa plantation in order to increasing land productivity. This research consisted of two treatments and each treatment consisted of 10 plots. Data were analysed using analysis of varian and LSD test using SPSS 20.0. Research was conducted in the plantation forest project areas in Tabalong District, South Kalimantan Province, Indonesia at 2019. Research result showed that at the first years, mean annual increment (MAI) of Ochroma bicolor in plants combination system was 4.1 cm in diameter and 4.55 m in heigh, whereas monocultural system was just 2.51 cm in diameter and 2.41 m in height only. First and second treatment were significantly different at 0.05 level. Plant combination system also produced rice namely 2.41 ton ha-1 in the first year. Thereby, the combination of Ochroma bicolor and Oriza sativa plantation is better than monocultural plantation of Ochroma bicolor. This system make better growth of Ochroma bicolor and have the added value of rice, and also improving local community perception regarding forest development, forest protection, and forest fire prevention to reduce forest degradation and deforestation.
