Abstract
Sensor nodes are deployed in different kinds of environments for monitoring and to collect the data for further processing. Generally video transmission contains large amount of data that consumes larger energy for transmission and high packet loss rates. Intellectual Vehicle Parking System using Markov Chain (state) Model (IVPSMCM) is proposed to overcome the issues. Here, low cost wireless sensors are deployed to detect the parking field for vehicles automatically. This system sup ports easy entry and easy exit of vehicles by applying Markov state model using sensor information. Each parking batch is equipped with one sensor node to detect the status of the parking field. This parking field status is periodically reported to the database where the information can be collected for further process. Upper layer management system accesses the database for performing various kinds of management functions including detection of vacant parking lots, auto-toll, statistical report and security management.
