Abstract

Protection is the most dominant aspect in power system network. The incorporation of DG effects in the increase of abnormal electric current flow in the system. The protective devices installed at the substation is very costly ,therefore in order to safeguard these devices the most adapted technique Fault current Limiter(FCL) is considered to reduce the fault current level to acceptable level. In this paper the highest fault three phase fault and the most fault contributing synchronous type of DG is considered and Controlled Impedance (CI-FCL) active type of FCL is implemented and tested on Indian practical 52 bus radial distribution network. In this paper Four Nature Inspired algorithms GA, PSO, SSA and CSA have been adopted and the comparison of results shows that crow search Algorithm (CSA) gives the effective placement of DG and FCL sizing.
