Abstract

The national liquid sanitation program is increasingly demanding an increase in the rate of wastewater treatment to protect the environment on the one hand and to promote the reuse of treated wastewater on the other. Indeed, purification generates clean, purified water that can be discharged without any problem into the receiving environment or ready for reuse. However, a fairly large quantity of waste sludge is generated, which must have an environmental and economic outlet. The most and its reuse in agriculture. The study concerns the characterization and valorization of wastewater sludge from wastewater treatment plants in Morocco. This study consists in establishing an inventory of the different systems and types of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Morocco and estimating the quantity of sludge produced using the GIS modeling tool.
