Abstract
Failure of slopes and moving of soil masses influences the safety of structures such as highways, dams, roads, railways and building etc. the soil slope deformation or failure may cause life as well as properties loss. By proper monitoring techniques and applying Civil-Geotechnical engineering applications, such as soil slope stability and deformation analysis, the amount of damage caused by slope failure can be identified and minimized. The earth slope failure is occurred by influenced by seasonal rainfall on the high slope land in Salaysh at Dessie South Wollo Ethiopia; earth slope failed due to soil particles eroded along with rain water. The main objective of this investigation is to identify the mechanism of soil slope failure, to find the main causes of slope failure, to provide the suitable engineering remedial measure, to provide required suggested structural design by using the factor of safety which is determined by using slope/w analysis-GeoStudio2020 software and to provide the safety for the public and property. By observing the deformation behaviour, material properties and geometry of the soil mass movement, suitable recommendations and remedial measures are assessed.
