Abstract
As a new type of green material with excellent physical and chemical properties and mechanical properties. Basalt fiber (BF) are extensively used in the field of civil construction. The present status of the research and engineering applications of basalt fiber in concrete were summarized. The advantage of application of basalt fiber in concrete was discussed. In addition, a few problems for the study and application of basalt fiber in concrete have been introduced forward The main aim of this research is to study the effect of (0.0 ، 0.1 ، 0.25، 0.5) % by total mix weight of Chopped basalt fiber (CBF) used for concrete mixes، it is shown their effect on some mechanical properties (compressive strength ، splitting tensile strength).The test results showed clear improvement in some mechanical properties by using 0.25% (CBF) modified concrete at the test duration of (28) day..
