SEAKEEPING ANALYSIS OF 30 GT FISHING VESSEL ADDED HULL VANE DURING FISHING ACTIVITIES

Abstract
Fishing vessel is one of Indonesia primary economic sector that needs to be planned safely, comfortably, and efficiently in which those are affected by ship motions. Lower speed of ship motions provide safety during ship's operational and ship's engine will work more efficiently so the ship can achieve more optimal speed and saves more fuel. The purpose of this research is to analyze seakeeping of ship during fishing activities and adding hull vane variations with 2° angle NACA 2408 . 3D modelling, software stabilizer, and seakeeper software to analyze ship motions are used in this study. Fishing activity caused ship's center of gravity to change so it creates different ship motions. The seakeeping analysis of all four variations including bare hull have fulfilled the ship motions standards for fishing vessel. Then hull vane modified with 2° angle NACA 2408 increase RMS roll, pitch and heave.
