Abstract
This study presents a model suitable simulate concrete slab with decking steel sheet by using finite element modeling. ANSYS computer program version 12 is utilized in the analysis and five models slabs were performed, each slab 2500mm span and 1150mm width. The overall thickness of slab is 150mm, in which 35mm is the depth of profiled sheet and remaining 115mm is the depth of concrete above deck sheet above deck sheet with 0.5mm corrugated sheet thickness. Slab S1 with Plain concrete, S-2 with shear connectors 50mm of 16mm diameter spaced at 500mm, S3 with shear connectors 50mm of 16mm diameter spaced at 250mm, S4 with mesh 8mm diameter spaced at 200mm and S5 with steel reinforcement mesh 10mm diameter spaced at 200mm. Models were tested to failure under two points line loads at L/4 (Shear span) of the span. Based on results, the ultimate load and maximum deflection are obtained from the analysis and the following conclusions, Usage of profiled deck sheet can reduce 20% of concrete by volume.
