Abstract
Bio-diesel in compression ignition engines is widely accepted as a fuel equivalent to petrol. It has benefits such as higher number of CETANE and reduced particulate emissions. Therefore, it is therefore necessary to establish alternatives to diesel fuel in the transport and agricultural sectors. Vegetable oils such as palm oil, seed oil, NEEM oil and polygenic oil are seen in this light as an alternative to diesel fuels that offer promising solutions. Natural gas is a methane-based mixture of hydrocarbons derived from either coal or crude oil sources. Methyl or ethyl ester consisting of vegetable oils and animal fats, bio-Diesel fatty acid, Non-edible oils from plant species such as Jatropha, Cruces, Karaj, NEEM, and Maua can be the major product sources for biodiesel in India. Biodiesel does not contain oil but can be blends with petroleum diesel at any level in order to create a bio-diesel mixture and may be used exclusively, as do petroleum diesel.
