Abstract
Stock prices' volatility always affects the investor's confidence in stock market, especially during a crisis period whether it's 2008 crisis or the Wall Street Crisis of 1922. Every crisis has a different story and its impact on the stock market is also different, some crisis affects the overall market and some others affect some specific sectors of the stock market. Also some crisis impact globally or some crisis impacts only a specific country. This Coivd-19 crisis is somehow different from earlier crisis on the basis that it is not only affecting the stock market, but also the economy on global level. This paper examines the impact of Covid-19 on the stock returns of oil and gas companies during this first 6 months of 2020 especially after the lockdown announcement in G7 countries. This study examines the volatility in the stock prices of oil and gas companies due to the investors' lack of confidence during the Covid-19 period.
