Abstract
This article presents insights from a critical study that intended to explore whether the New Paradigm of Development introduced and followed by the nascent democratic Kingdom of Bhutan shares affinities with the theory of Post development. It identifies the central characteristics of either with a view to facilitate a comparison and thus arrives at the conclusion that there is indeed, sufficient degree of similarity between New Paradigm of Development and Post development theory to substantiate the claim that the former can in fact be treated as a concrete case of Post Development theory, staging a come back, following a phase of redundance in terms of influence in thinking about International Political Economy.
