Abstract
This paper proposes a design model (matlab simulation) for battery balancing system using solar power for electric vehicles. Solar-balancing, storage-balancing, and charge balancing are various three operation modes designed in this system. The function of solar-balancing mode is that it charges the module of the battery with state of charge (SOC) during vehicle driving with the help of solar power. Charging balancing mode operated when vehicle is been parked, there in balancing module , the battery module is discharged by transferring to an additional storage cell while the solar panel also charges the storage cell independently at the same time if solar power is available with highest SOC. To charge the battery module with lowest SOC by using energy stored from the storage cell, we have to select the storage balancing mode when solar power is low
