Abstract
Whatever mechanical construction or mechanical device conditions are involved, whether they are the bridge, dams, or mechanical tools or any form of machine which helps reduce human efforts demands high-quality materials which impose resistance, durability and ductility for a better construction. Therefore, in this rapidly moving world, the concept of interchangeability plays a vital part in the globalization of mass production. Since businesses strive for the continuous development of impeccably manufactured products, at the earliest stage, the emphasis will be on production management in which proper parts and components that make up the structural unit of a product are created. Welding is one such straightforward process of the basic manufacturing and hence grabs the centre of attention for this paper. In order to produce better products, welding plays a crucial role. But any manufacturing process may inherit various defects which can greatly affect longevity. This paper focuses on the various defects that can occur during welding and the remedies to correct it.
