Abstract

The present article views different ways of language realization of the bilingual concepts fændag/ road and Transcam/ Transcam and their significance in the internet-segment of the South Ossetian political communication. Peculiarities of the mentality of the South Ossetian people are identified and studied by means of linguocognitive analysis of the concept. Different ways of actualization of the present concept are conditioned by a particular socio-cultural and political context. This approach contributes to viewing extralinguistic processes as the main factors of conceptosphere development and reveals important aspects of conceptual world view in a broad cultural and socio-political context interaction. Texts of comments and discussions at different Internet sites(15) and Forums (17)were used as the materials for the research. The results of the present research prove that comprehension of different meaning layers of the metaphorical concepts fændag/road and Transcam/ Transcam, playing a significant role in the system of South Ossetian linguocultural community values, is determined by the linguistic world view of the Ossetian language and mentality carriers, which in its turn depends on the cultural traditions of the people and comes from an individual's specifically structured idea of the existing reality. Internet segment of the political communication reflects importance of the metaphorical concepts fændag/ road and Transcam/Transcam in historical, political and functional aspects.
