Abstract
The article analyzes the conceptual component of the cultural type “business lady” according to the Russian and Ossetian lexicographic sources, the Russian language corpus and materials from Internet sites and blogs. This cultural type is a cognitive borrowing, which has received a Russian language nomination. The nominative field of concept in the Russian language is formed by relevant and passive strata, which indicates that the idea of a woman engaged in trade and entrepreneurship has existed in the Russian world for more than a century. In the Ossetian cultural tradition, a woman appears as a wife, mother and guardian of the hearth, therefore, the passive, historical and cultural layer of the concept “сæрæн сылгоймаг” is absent in the Ossetian language. The modern synonymous of the concept nominators are identical in Ossetian and Russian. As a methodological base for the study, conceptual analysis methods, conceptual and semantic analysis method, as well as etymologization techniques were used. The results of the study showed that the concept “business lady” is significant for the Russian and Ossetian language pictures of the world, as it reflects current ideas about the new socio-gender phenomenon.
