Abstract
The increase in anthropogenic pressure due to increased production and intensive accumulation of industrial waste cause pollution of the environment, deterioration of the ecological status and quality of life of the population. An urgent task is to strengthen the social and environmental responsibility of business entities through the organization of effective waste management. The article is devoted to the actual topic of improving waste management in the food industry, taking into account technical, technological, financial, economic, market and other factors. In the article the dynamics of waste generation in the food industry of Ukraine were analyzed and compared with the dynamics of trends in the generation of waste in the EU countries. It is established that a two-tier waste management system is used in Ukraine. It is mainly restrictive and does not stimulate the interest of enterprises in the implementation of innovative technologies for waste recycling. It is determined that at the micro level an internal management system of waste management is used, aimed at compliance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of waste management through the use of traditional instruments: planning, accounting, analysis and control. The further application of the internal waste management system will not contribute to solving the problem of efficient waste management and ensuring the competitiveness of food businesses in the domestic and international markets. The technological, financial-economic and organizational problems of handling of industrial waste from food industry enterprises are considered. An integrated and innovative waste management system in the enterprise is proposed, which, unlike existing ones, is aimed at the development of technology, transport and information cooperation of stakeholders (producers, processors of waste, local authorities, transport organizations, etc.)
