Çorum Halkevleri: Teşkilat ve Faaliyetleri Kapsamında 1937 Yılında Düzenlenen Millî Gün ve Bayramlarla İlgili Etkinlikler

Community centers were established on February 19, 1932 as cultural institutions. These institutions, which were the most important complements of Public Training in the early years of the Republic, acted as public schools that were influential on the establishment of national conscious until 1951. Çorum Community Center started its activities on February 24, 1933 with five branches. In a short time, it has completed its deficiencies and played an active role in the region. National days and holidays celebrated in Çorum Community Center are as follows; 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day, 19 May Youth and Sports Day, 30 August Victory Day, 26 September Language Day, 29 October Republic Day and Savings and Domestic Goods Week.Holidays are a phenomenon that strengthens national unity and solidarity among citizens and stimulates feelings of solidarity and solidarity. Therefore, it will be tried to explain with documents how this phenomenon was formed and shaped in Corum. The aim of the study is to examine the social and economic situation of that period as well as the activities for the celebration of national days and holidays held within the Community Center. Again, with this study, the activities carried out in the cultural field in Çorum in the first years of the Republic will be evaluated. For this purpose, archives were scanned and the findings were shared here.
