Abstract

The article is devoted to the discussion of the problem of preschoolers' understanding of social emo- tions, which is insufficiently developed in native child psychology. The material of the article is not only theoret- ical, but also contains the results of foreign psychological research of the genesis of understanding social emo- tions. Regularities of the formation of children's scripts for social emotions, the age features and socio-cognitive predictors of children's understanding of various social emotions (e.g., embarrassment, pride, gratitude, etc.) are considered. The main attention is paid to the problem of children's attribution of moral emotions to victimizers and changes in children's understanding of the relationship between emotions and moral assessment of an act. In the conclusion, findings are formulated that reflect the developmental logic in children's understanding of social emotions as a component of their emotional intelligence
