THE IMPACT OF OUTSOURCING ON SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE OF PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY OF PAKISTAN

Aim of this paper is to examined the role of outsourcing elements and supply chain innovation in order to achieve purchase performance and competitive advantages of a firm, we also included the risk management capabilities construct as a mediator. We have applied and combined a Schoenherr, T. (2010) and Kwak, D. W., Seo, Y. J., & Mason, R. (2018) model to pharma sector of Pakistan. For this first time we are presenting a model that articulate the impact of outsourcing elements (contract specificity, purchase risk, supplier responsiveness and procedural rigour) and supply chain innovation on purchase performance and competitive advantages in the presence of risk management capabilities (robustness and resilience) of a firm. This examination proposes a hypothetical model to research what SC development may mean for hazard the executives capacities and thus how hazard the board ability may improve upper hand and buy execution. An aggregate of 349 self-controlled surveys were dispersed to the representatives in various pharma organizations. The poll questions are embraced from a set up instrument recently utilized in other exploration; questionnaire consists of 35 questions. We have use Smart PLS to calculate the statical results and found that Contract Specificity and supplier responsiveness is positively and significantly impact on Competitive advantage, Purchase performance and Robustness capability, whereas Contract Specificity insignificantly impact on Resilience capability. Procedural Rigour is positively and significantly impact on all Competitive advantage, Purchase performance Robustness capability and Resilience capability. However, purchase risk insignificantly impacts on all Competitive advantage, Purchase performance Robustness capability and Resilience capability. One of the results also indicated that Robustness capability and Resilience capability significantly impact on both purchase performance and competitive advantages. Similarly, Supply chain innovation positively and significantly affect all Robustness capability & Resilience capability and purchase performance and competitive advantages.
