Abstract
Diet habits and fitness play a principal role in leading a healthy lifestyle in our day to day life. The lower limb is disabled due to neural injuries like a traumatic brain, stroke, and spinal cord wounds. The number of walking disability patients and rehabilitation cost is growing to a great extent, which in turn led to developing smart health care in this discipline. Wearable devices have an immense impact on the comprehensive global health system. To enhance the rapidness of information and to enable easy access, IoT is integrated with medical devices inside a connected health environment. This paper proposes LLRD: Lower Limb Rehabilitation Device composed of MPU 6050 sensor, data pre-processing, cloud infrastructure, performance evaluation, and remote monitoring. Gyroscope sensors and 3-axial accelerometer are utilized in capturing and recording the movements related data. The recorded data is used for categorizing the movements, thereby monitoring and estimating the patients state at all times is carried out with minimal cost and less human intervention. Results intimate that the proposed device gives highly precise and accurately monitored lower limb flexion and extension characteristics. Cloud-based service is used for rehabilitation tracking remotely. Besides, LLRD enables someone to stand, walk, and stairs smoothly.
