MICROSTRUCTURE AND HARDNESS OF AL2214 ALLOY WITH GRAPHITE PARTICULATES

The Al2214 metal matrix composites are broadly used in different industrial application, because it is having greater physical and mechanical properties. The metal matrix reinforced with Graphite (Gr) particles, termed as Aluminum Metal matrix composites (MMC's), have greater improvements in their physical, mechanical properties as compared to conventional MMC's. This paper contains around the change in physical and mechanical properties of Al2214 when it is reinforced with Gr of production by using stir-casting techniques. For this reason Al2214 and reinforcement of Gr with various wt percentage utilized. Gr are reinforced in 2-10 wt percentages in steps of 2wt%.
