Abstract
The article presents the results of analysis of the state of industrial injuries, occupational morbidity and working conditions. The relationship between the costs of preventing injuries and occupational diseases and these indicators is determined. The methodology for assessing the socio-economic effectiveness of measures to improve working conditions, organize labor protection and improve the safety of coal mining enterprises has been further developed, according to which it is proposed to include indicators of the cost of modernization and the creation of a personnel policy as part of the economic costs for improving labor conditions and safety.
