Abstract
Monoclinic bismuth vanadate nanoparticle (BiVO4) have been synthesized in the presence of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) using the microwave hydrothermal method. The as-synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS). The photocatalytic activity of the as-prepared samples was evaluated towards degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) by visible-light. Our results indicate that the photocatalytic activity of BiVO4 nanoparticles is enhanced by addition of EDTA.
