Abstract
Motivation is the core of understanding human behavior. It identifies the motives of an individual to perform and achieve their needs. It is a theoretical concept that route leads to performance and reflects the aspirations and perseverance towards goals. The paper studies the various theories of motivation and how they affect human behavior in an organization. It lays down an explanation regarding the relationship between employee motivation and talent retention in an organization. It is crucial to achieve high motivation in employees but it is very important. Hence, this study focuses on several motivational theories and their role in organizational health. It focuses on the relevance of these theories and how motivation is critical for talent management. Finally, the paper identifies strategies to achieve high motivation in the organization.
