Abstract
Social entrepreneurship refers to an attempt of drawing upon business techniques so as to find a solution to social problems. Typically, conventional entrepreneurs measure performance on return and profit, but social entrepreneurs take positive return to the society into account (Lumpkin and Katz, 2011). Lumpkin and Katz (2011) continue to argue that typically social entrepreneurship attempt to broaden environmental, social, and cultural goals often related with the voluntary sector. However, at times profit may be considered for certain organizations or other social enterprises. There are arguments on who matters as a social entrepreneur. So far there has been no unanimity on social entrepreneurship definition since numerous different kinds of disciplines and fields are related with social entrepreneurship (Bornstein and Davis, 2010). However, for a clearer understanding of what social entrepreneurship implies, this paper will throw light on whether social entrepreneurship can play a role in building sustainable communities through the understanding of social entrepreneurship / social enterprise, understanding of community and understanding of community stability.
