Abstract
Transformers are the crucial part of generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. Transformers often suffer failure due to internal discharges which is due to number of reasons. One of such reasons is existence of conducting sludge. Nature of sludge is based on the nature particles present in it. These particles may be of different materials which are conducting or non-conducting in temperament. This paper deals with the impact of material of the particle in sludge formation and internal discharges in accordance to the flow pattern.
