Abstract
Municipal solid waste such as plastic is considered to be one of the challenging issues to the mankind and environment despite their durability and technological advances. In this study, latest advancements in the reprocessing and retrieval of plastic solid waste are reviewed. Significant focus is done on waste produced from polymer products, which accounts for a significant quantity of one's single-life cycle plastic goods every day.Plastic solid waste of thermoplastic polymers is creating new challenges. Hence, there is requirement of sustainable and effective waste treatment out of plastic waste. Many researchers have reported their work for recycling these wastes. One of the important recycling processes is pyrolysis which is thermo-chemical treatment of plastic waste which results in recycling of fuel oil as well as gases. Pyrolysis has gained much attention of researcher recently as it gives enhancement over environmental impacts. In this paper, some of the existing techniques over pyrolysis and its impact are discussed which opens scope for future research.
