Political Parties Regional Mass Media as an Information Source for Research into Specifics of the Activities of Its Local Organizations

The specificity of the regional mass media of political parties as sources of research on the activities of local organizations of political parties in the information and analytical activities of libraries in Ukraine is analyzed. The approaches to the preservation of party mass media information in the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and regional libraries of the southern regions of Ukraine, the use of information from party mass media in the preparation of information and analytical products by library analytical services are investigated. The features of the functioning of political parties media in the southern regions of Ukraine in the period 1991–2019 are noted. Attention is drawn to the preservation of information, systematization, processing within the framework of scientific and analytical activities, the organization of access to it, the creation of an analytical product on its basis. The process of improving the media of communication has been analyzed, because information policy is of particular importance in political relations, and provides the opportunity to create a positive image of political figures, in particular leaders of political parties, to influence public opinion. Given the information and communication potential of the Ukrainian political parties media, their impact on social processes in the regions of our state, on the one hand, and functioning in line with certain ideologies, on the other hand, they are considered by the very parties not only as way to inform the public about the parties goals and objectives, its individual representatives, but also as a space to fight opponents. In this context, it is true that party mass media contribute to the integration of certain groups of society, but at the same time they have a disintegrating effect on society as a whole. Regional party media is an integral part of information resources that play an important role in public processes. It is concluded that political parties regional mass media are an important source to study socio-political situation in the regions, formation of power structures, activities of political parties regional branches. At the same time, libraries that process information, prepare consolidated materials and help researchers in the preparation of scientific papers and analytical articles play an important role in study and preservation of information from party mass media.
