Abstract
The article deals with the hypothesis proposed by the authors about the possibility of use of energy parameter in studying of the machinability of metals and alloys by cutting. The study consisted in definition of existence of dependence between dissipation factor of the energy and one of quality index of the processed surface. In case of detection of this relation it was supposed to use dissipation factor of the energy as the criterion estimating degree of efficiency of course of finishing operations of processing by cutting.
